Access Control is the concept of electronic access providing the most efficient and convenient way of securing your building and assets. Although locks and keys allow someone to secure a building, when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys – especially on a large scale – can be considerable.
Keys may also be copied, creating even more security risks. Access Control enables users to completely control who has access to a building.
All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage.
Installing an access control system means customers will never have to change a lock again. Tokens are issued to allow access through the controlled doors, and are easily barred from the system if they are lost, stolen or just not returned by someone who leaves the company. Barred tokens will not allow access through the controlled doors.
Elite Digital Systems provide a one-stop solution, including financial benefits to gain from leasing capital equipment, such as:
Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without a PIN or access token is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock during a designated time frame.
Access control can also offer flexible control over users’ access rights. For example, all staff can gain access through the main door of a building, but access to internal areas may be restricted to those who have a specific need to be there. Access may also be restricted by time, only granting access to particular users at certain times of day or night.
Access control offers a secure, convenient, flexible and cost effective way of controlling who has access to your building and when that access is allowed. Access control gives organisations the security they need.
Choosing an access control system is an important financial decision for most companies. The cost is of course important, but the system also needs to match your requirements and be completely reliable.
Elite/Paxton Access specialise in access control solutions. Our team are focused on designing systems that are fit for their purpose, containing the important features that are necessary for well-run organisations. Our commitment has resulted in our products winning a reputation for reliability and ease of use.
Implementing an access control system can feel like a big change in company practice. The access control should give the benefit of additional security without requiring time-consuming administration. Elite/Paxton Access systems are intuitive and straightforward to administer. The increased security is a benefit to all, rather than a benefit for some and a headache for those who have to administer it.

A non-ferrous metal separator consists of a short conveyor. A rapidly rotating system of permanent magnets is incorporated in the head drum. The magnets generate strong eddy currents in the non-ferrous metal parts which eject the NF parts from the rest of the material flow.
The special feature of Steinert’s non-ferrous metal separator is the eccentric pole system. The pole system is adjustable, so that the application of force can be optimally adjusted for maximum ejection efficiency. As compared to concentric pole systems, the eccentric pole system increases the metal yield by 50%. The service life of the belt and drum shell is considerably lengthened.

The Plasterboard Recycling Facility
Since 1986, we have recycled close to 5 million metric tonnes of wet and dry gypsum wallboard material. We enable recovery of gypsum from building construction and renovations sites, as well as production scrap from drywall manufacturers. Around the world, we are acknowledged as the experts in efficient and economic processing of gypsum waste material because of our patented processes, proprietary technology and world-class teams.
Strong Partners. Strong Results.
NWGR has been recycling wallboard waste for almost 30 years – we have a tried and tested model that profitably works for our company and our wallboard manufacturing partners. To date, we have recycled 5M metric tonnes of gypsum material, globally.
Recycling and re-using gypsum material will reduce the need for virgin raw material. Use of recycled material has the potential for lowering costs in producing new drywall products. The business model for drywall manufacturers using recycled gypsum is compelling – you save by paying a low fee for disposal of manufacturing scrap and you can lengthen the useful life of gypsum mine resources.
NWGR has the highest quality recycled product in the industry. Our model which relies on patented processes and advanced equipment married with experienced teams at each of our facilities, leads the way in world-class technical and safety standards.
Wallboard manufacturers are assured their feedstock is of a consistent blend. With virtually no capital investment, you can help to conserve natural resources while responsibly endorsing sustainable processes and products.
We want to work with you to enable our successful business model in your region. We together can share the benefits of recycling gypsum wallboard waste if you:
Have the ability and desire to use recycled gypsum within your production lines.
Have at least 10,000 metric tonnes of production scrap, annually.
Are in a region where post-consumer waste can be collected.
There are significant benefits available to your production facility if you partner with the New West Gypsum Recycling team. You can have:
Lower cost feedstock
Minimised cost for production scrap removal
Better quality and more consistent gypsum product
The benefit of our 30 years’ experience and our patented processes
Closer and stronger relationships with your customers
With virtually no capital investment on your part, we can work with you to optimize gypsum reutilisation in your region.
When material goes to a landfill that should be destined for a recycling stream it represents an enormous loss of resources and economic opportunity. It is not just the material or energy value of the waste that is lost, but also the business opportunities associated with recycling and with integrating the recovered resources into new products and packaging that can be sold again.

Perry of Oakley Ltd, UK leader in manufacturing material drying and handling equipment, will be exhibiting at WASTE ’18 on indoor stand D.
The Hampshire-based company was founded in 1947 by Tom Perry, a farmer’s son, who offered a mobile repair and manufacturing service to local farmers and businesses in the Basingstoke area.
The business steadily developed on its reputation of delivering reliable, well-engineered conveyors and bucket elevators during the early 1950s.
In 1990 the business had expanded sufficiently under the direction of Tom’s son Nigel Perry, which led to the requirement of a larger premises and a relocation move to Honiton in Devon was made.
During the last 16 years, investment in staff, buildings and automated systems has enabled Perry’s to apply its original, high quality manufacturing standards to an ever-increasing demand for its products.
The manufacturing company offer a complete range of mechanical handling solutions to customers, including grain and bulk material-handling and drying equipment since 1947.
Perry of Oakley have over 70 years’ experience in the manufacture and design of materials handling equipment.
The product range includes screw conveyors and augers, belt conveyors, belt and bucket elevators, intake systems to receive wood chips from trucks, woodchip and wood pellet stores, and discharge systems for biomass to feed boilers.
Biomass systems have tended to utilise woodchip which has required specialist delivery vehicles with noisy delivery systems and a slow delivery speed. By utilising our 70 years of material handling experience, the company have designed a complete range of ‘from-truck-to-store’ material handling solutions, resulting in quicker, cheaper and quieter deliveries.
This is accomplished by removing the need for specialist vehicles, or even shovelling the material by hand, as our range will effortlessly move customers’ material from the delivery point into stores at the flick of a switch. Using Perry of Oakley’s combination of products a solution can be found to customer’s biomass handling challenge.
The company’s range of products are designed and manufactured in the UK, are pre-galvanised, and can be designed and built to bespoke requirements or provided as modular sections to be built on site.
Delivering a complete engineering solution, Perry of Oakley provide bespoke design through to fabrication and installation. The company’s solutions are built to handle a range of materials including chopped straw, wood chip, wood shavings, sawdust, waste wood, wood pellets, and chopped Miscanthus, and are the perfect addition to your existing or planned biomass installation.

French-based Seligo Pro Ltd, by 3W Associates, will be travelling across the English Channel to exhibit at WASTE ’18 in Leamington Spa on July 5.
It will be the first time representatives from Seligo will be exhibiting at the annual WASTE exhibition, with a view to showcase the capabilities of the digital transaction and services platform – designed for waste professionals.
The platform is utilised by identifying sites with the necessary treatment capacities for companies with waste to dispose of.
Seligo optimises the sale of marginal capacities for treatment centres, and allows users to manage compliance and transaction payment in a secure environment.
SELIGO.pro is an online waste dedicated marketplace through which all types of registered and licensed waste collection, waste transportation, waste treatment companies can advertise their products or treatment capacity, and through which they can make reservations.
– Geolocalising the current and predicted treatment capacity available;
– Facilitating the sale of treatment capacity and the supply of waste, under the best market conditions;
– Optimising the use of treatment infrastructure and compliance management;
SELIGO.pro is operated by SELIGO Pro Ltd, registered as waste Broker Dealer under RegNo CBDU142880
1) SELIGO locates marginal treatment capacities and waste supply. Operators choose the best option according to their own criteria: product, quantity, price etc.
2) THE waste holders book treatment or services online. The treatment capacity holders book waste tonnage. Their profile has been validated in advance so that the transaction can be completed.
3) WASTE is taken to the treatment centre and checked, before being invoiced at the agreed price. Payment is made for each delivery.
Seligo Pro Ltd Director, Thomas Paris said: “The platform was presented at RWM in September 2017 and did attract some attention. We have since then released an Android app and are officially launching in the UK.
“We are looking at all sectors of the waste industry with a particular focus on construction and demolition waste and are actively looking at partner treatment sites that can advertise spare treatment capacity.
Thomas spoke about what attracted his company to exhibit at WASTE ’18. He said: “Our first clients and partner sites are situated in Birmingham, Leicester and London, as such the Warwickshire Event Centre’s location is ideal.
“3WAssociates (the mother company) may be French but SELIGO Pro Ltd is a UK based company. The location happens to be within reach of our first clients but more importantly we feel the event itself allows us to approach a different type of public than RWM.
“For our Seliog.pro platform, we are not focused on large corporate groups but are more focused on waste collection and treatment SMEs as they constitute the bulk of our initial client base.”
Statistically, landfill use has declined in recent years, but there are still obstacles preventing the best approach to waste treatment and recycling. For example, in Europe – with all the continent’s modern capabilities – only 41% of waste was optimised in 2015.
Seligo aims to improve the proportion of waste that is being optimised by creating the link between supply and demand.

Silent Sentinel are an established UK company with over 25 years’ experience, specialising in long-range video and thermal imaging cameras.
The fire suppression specialists, which are based in Hertfordshire, are set to make their WASTE debut at the WEC on July 5 and can be found on the indoor Stand 12.
Although WASTE ’18 will be the first time the Silent Sentinel team are joining forces with Skip Hire & Waste Magazine, the fire prevention industry leaders are no strangers to events after exhibiting at RWM 2017.
How can Silent Sentinel help you?
It was only recently, thermal imaging became more affordable increasing the availability of radiometric thermal imaging technology.
While investigating several key industries, Silent Sentinel realised the waste and recycling industries were struggling with rising insurance premiums and increased fire risks due to increased processing of materials on a daily basis.
It has become more apparent insurance premiums across the industry are rising at an unprecedented level to the point where insurance is being refused; even for those with no claims since they have been in business.
In the waste and recycling environment, the internal temperature of many types of material can increase to the extent they begin to burn spontaneously. Fires can result, and intense heat can cause nearby material to ignite, which can result in extreme damage.
Although conventional fire alarms and firefighting systems are often installed, they generally only operate after a fire has started.
Thermal imaging can help to detect hot spots before a fire starts so proactive and preventive measures can be taken before there is a major incident.
Without going into too much of the ‘nitty gritty’, Silent Sentinel’s thermal radiometric cameras will allow the measurement of heat sources in video cameras up to 400m in one direction – meaning they can cover 360° and can target specific areas of interest.
Such is the accurate nature of this technology and more so the temperature measurement, allowing reliable detections of fire and heat in large open spaces.
Silent Sentinel’s innovative solution can be applied to the waste management and utilities industry where fire is one of the larger risks to recycling and waste sites.
The Silent Sentinel radiometric camera’s flame, hotspot, and fire detection analytics enable fast and effective response to safety risks – allowing the user to monitor specific risk locations or vast areas for early heat, flame and fire detection. The cameras can be integrated with multiple alert, alarm and transmission systems.
Silent Sentinel fire detection and prevention camera solutions reduce the risks of harm to people and costly asset damage. They also reduce the cost and disruption of false fire alarms by providing the ability to scrutinise hotspots at the earliest opportunity. This investment will reduce the insurance premiums and ensure your assets are more safe and secure.

With over 50 years of experience in the tech sector of biomass energy, Uniconfort will be taking the company’s expertise to the WEC for WASTE ’18 on July 5.
Through producing commercial and industrial biomass boilers for many decades, Uniconfort’s global range of boilers are ideally suited to low quality, high moisture content fuels such as recycled wood, demolition waste or wood offcuts from furniture manufacturers or sawmills.
The Global boilers can also handle a high degree of contamination from glues, paints and plastics.
To burn contaminated biomass fuels legally for WID and IED within the SWIP guidelines, and to comply with all emission regulations there are a number of design features that are needed. For example, the correct combustion chamber temperature must be maintained at either 850° or 1,100° depending on the contamination level. A two-second retention time of the flue gases needs to be seen in the secondary combustion chamber and certain additives may also need to be added to reduce Nitrogen and Sulphur, just like the AdBlue that is added to trucks.
To ensure complete combustion at start up and shut down we employ a secondary gas or oil burner to raise the combustion temperature to the correct level before we feed any fuel into the combustion chamber.
This ensures that the fuel is completely combusted and all contaminates are processed. Likewise, on shut down we use the secondary combustion process to maintain the combustion chamber at the correct level until all of the fuel is expended from the chamber. This ensures complete combustion from start to stop.
The Global boilers emissions are controlled and monitored by our own sophisticated control panel and a Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, or CEMS, which records combustion temperature, fuel feed rate, flue gas temperature and particulate matter, or dust, in the exhaust flue gases.
Uniconfort’s operations involve production and construction of biomass boilers for hot water, superheated water, steam, diathermic oil, and hot air/gas generators.
The energy for the company’s biomass production comes from forest-based wood processing, agricultural, food processing, special crops and urban green cleaning industries.
As well as custom-designed biomass boilers, Uniconfort specialises in products ranging from remote heat systems, cogeneration and heat-to-electricity production, and industrial processing.

It seems the UK is forever experiencing unpredictable weather conditions; a major issue for waste sites up and down the British Isles.
To tackle this, Perth-based Zappshelter have introduced their range to the UK and European waste recycling sector, designed and engineered to withstand the harshest of environments.
Zappshelter products are designed to increase customer storage space and there are sizes available to suit every requirement and budget.
Managing Director Craig Michel said: “We first viewed a similar shelter system in Australia many years ago, and decided to design a product for use in the UK and Europe, which meant extensive structural testing to ensure it was suitable for our climate.
“With the tightening up of waste storage and handling regulations in the industry, our product helps to keep sites in line with the Environment Agency requirements.
“While the Zappshelter concept began with mounting the structure on shipping containers, we also often work with existing material storage bays, or create new ones using our precast concrete bunker wall system.
“Zappshelters are perfect for material processing plants, but we also work extensively with the construction, plant and biomass industries too.”
Zappshelters are available throughout the UK and Europe, with a standard range of 6 metres to 17 metres wide, with lengths in either 6 metres or 12 metres. However, the product design is
flexible and bespoke sizes can be manufactured to suit specific site needs.
